Sheffield Bridge Club offers lessons and guided playing sessions for a range of abilities - from "absolute beginners" through "improvers" to "intermediates" and beyond - all in a friendly & welcoming atmosphere.
The club also offers some friendly sessions of gently competitive bridge, aimed at players with less experience who are wanting to make the step-up from their classes. See below / the club calendar for details.
Tuesday 19:10 - 21:10 (Lesson)
Lessons for complete beginners with Dom Rayner.
** New classes beginning Tuesday, 17th September 2019!! **
Classes will cost £8 and be payable on a week-by-week basis. The initial course will spend the first few weeks focusing on mini-bridge and card play, and then follow on with different aspects of bidding. After 12 weeks you can expect to have a solid grasp of the fundamentals after which lessons will continue on for all who wish to continue to learn.
A regular play session but more sociable and less intense; suitable for beginners but taking place in the evening so that those still unfortunate enough to be working can take part.
This duplicate session will play on Thursday evenings from 15th August. It will start at the same time as the existing session (7:10pm) but will be targeted at less experienced players and will be particularly suitable for those who have just finished lessons and are looking to move up to main stream duplicate bridge sessions. Ian Grant has agreed to direct the session so those new to the game can be assured of a friendly, gentle introduction to the world of Duplicate.
£3 per session.
Friday 10:00 - 12:00 (Play & Learn)
Any standard welcome, play and learn session. Playing random computer dealt hands, with advice and discussion on any topics that arise.
