80th Anniversary Celebrations

The celebrations commenced on Monday 19 September with a 4 session 80 Board Marathon. Members were invited to play in all or some of the sessions and with the facility to change partners over the day.

Four pairs managed to full 80 Boards without changing partners – a real feat of stamina. Congratulations go to the overall winners, two of our Trustees, Jonathan Brayshaw and Raphael Grossman who were presented with a gold medal.

Individual session winners were:

Morning: Richard Gilbert & Mike Heaney and Jonathan Brayshaw &  Raphael Grossman

Afternoon: Mick Lindley & Steve Willis and Ian & Julie Grant

Late Afternoon: Jonathan Brayshaw & Raphael Grossman and Jo Mills & Richard Wakefield

Evening (1 winner): Julia Broady & Jane Kirk

Feedback from those who took part on the day has been very positive and enormous thanks go to the organisers Ann Cockerill, Monika Cooper, Jean Rodgers and Sue Wormald.

The sandwiches and cake at lunchtime and the fish and chips supper were warmly appreciated.
