We have received the sad news that Bill Barraclough passed away on Monday 21st after a long battle against cancer.

Bill had been a member of the club for almost 40 years. He took part in all club activities, incuding a stint as Treasurer and about 20 years as Assistant Treasurer to Derek Jepson. Bill frequently directed club sessions and was an extremely popular member of the club. Although Bill had no immediate relatives, it is clear that he will be missed by the whole Sheffield Bridge Club family.

It was Bill's wish to have a direct cremation and that there should not be a funeral. As David Duckworth put it, Bill was "unassuming in life and now death".
