Yorkshire League Match 1- Russ de Haney reports:

• Sheffield A got off to a good start in defending their title in Division one with an 18 -2 victory over Sheffield B, the only consolation for the B team is that they have now faced the strongest team in the league.
• In Division 5 the newly promoted C team got off to a comfortable 17-3 victory over Doncaster C.
• In Division 7 our two new teams both started with wins, the D team managed to reverse a deficient, going into the final quarter of the match, to win 12 – 8 over Wetherby D and the E team ran out 20-0 winners at York E to top the table.

The next matches are on 2nd November when Sheffield A and B are both at home to Leeds A and York A respectively in Division 1, the C team travel to league leaders Olicana C in Division 5, Wetherby D are again at Sheffield this time to face the E team while the D team travel to Halifax.
