Double victories for Sheffield teams in the Yorkshire knock-out competitions.

GISBORNE (Tom Gisborne, Sandy Davies, Mike Pomfrey, Arthur Hughes, David Banks) beat MURPHY (Pearl Murphy, Denis Murphy, Heather Hobson, Roy Garthwaite) by 45 IMPs to win the Waddington Shield final; an honour that also earns them the opportunity to represent Yorkshire in the EBU's Pachabo Cup competition.

Meanwhile TURNER (Rob Turner, Mary Whyms, David Fletcher, Glyn Foley), having lost very narrowly to a strong Townsend team in the first found of the Shield, went on to sweep all before them in the consolation event and brought home the Yorkshire Trophy.
