Yorkshire League - One match to go!

As we look towards Match 7 in the Yorkshire League, the league tables tell a range of exciting stories.

We have Sheffield A needing a 16-4 win against Leeds A at the top of Division 1 in order to win the League and represent Yorkshire in the Garden Cities. Can our team get their revenge for a 16-4 loss against the Leeds B team?

Sheffield B are comfortably top of Division 2 after a series of steady results and even a 0-20 loss in Match 7 might not prevent a return to Division 1.

Sheffield D were doing well in Match 6 to push Hull A down to replace them in the Division 2 relegation zone, but disaster in the last 8 boards leaves them now needing a huge win in Match 7 plus favourable results in other matches to escape relegation.

Sheffield C who had an eye on promotion from Division 3 had a similar disaster in the last 8 boards of Match 6 against Beauchief A to leave them slightly concerned now against relegation in a very close division.

Sheffield E have recovered from the Division 4 relegation zone in the last two matches and just need to avoid disaster in Match 7.

Division 5 is very close and while Sheffield F are only 3 VP below middle, there is some risk of relegation if there’s a poor score in Match 7.

Sheffield G are lying just 1 VP behind the leaders in Division 7, but there are five teams very close at the top and a good win will be needed to win the division and a fairly good win needed for promotion.

Sheffield H have also had a very good season so far and are currently second in the 13 team Division 10 with good prospects of promotion.
