Friday's teams event attracted a strong field, but this didn't deter Barrie Partridge from qualifying for the A-final nor from finishing a highly creditable second, only 2 IMPs behind the winners. Congratulations/commiserations to Barrie and his team-mates.

The highest-placed Sheffield pair in the Swiss Pairs were Frank Littlewood & David Musson in 19th=. Roman Gembicki & Arthur Hughes were just 1 VP behind, whilst Judy Jackson & Martyn James made it into the prizes by virtue of a 4th-place finish in the B strata.
